
Propose an Exhibition!
Are you a curator, artist collective, or community organizer with a bold idea for a group show? We welcome proposals that are imaginative, relevant, and rooted in community. Proposals must include a minimum of five participating artists and demonstrate a thoughtful curatorial vision.
Please review the guidelines and evaluation criteria carefully before submitting your proposal.
Proposal Requirements & Evaluation Criteria
Exhibition Proposal Requirements:
- A clear and compelling exhibition theme and description
- A minimum of 5 participating artists, each with at least 5 images (JPEG format)
- Optional: Alternative media or video link (max 10 minutes) for non-image-based work or as supplementary material
- Resume or Bio of the Curator(s)
- Completed submission of the Exhibition Proposal Form below.
Your proposal will be reviewed and evaluated based on the following:
Curatorial Criteria:
– Interest and quality of the exhibition theme
– Originality of the theme or approach
– Alignment with PVA’s mission and goals
Relevance to PVA’s Mission of bring the community together through the arts.
This is accomplished by:
1. Producing visual arts exhibits in a gallery setting for community experience
2. Presenting and promoting work by regional artists
3. Mentoring individuals interested in the arts, curating, and PVA programming
4. Presenting gallery and public art exhibits that:
– Are of high artistic quality
– Educate about the arts, local resources, and natural beauty
– Are culturally inclusive and encourage diversity
– Celebrate cultural heritage and history
– Raise social awareness
– Provide access to educational opportunities
– Inspire appreciation and collection of art
Additional Considerations:
– Potential for educational programming or community engagement
– Feasibility of funding or partnership opportunities
Visual Materials Will Be Evaluated For:
– Quality and consistency of artwork
– Originality and creativity
– Depth of concept
– Variety in media and artistic approaches
