Brad Burkhart Naming Workshop

Brad Burkhart, a current exhibitor in Hot Off the Walls, will be offering a special Naming Session for one or more of his sculptures. His unique artistic process begins with autonomic pencil sketching on paper. Random lines evolve into defined images, and landscapes which he
refines into a finished sketch. Sketches are then transferred to his clay relief sculptures, glazed, and fired. However, the sculptor is not aware of the story behind the images when they are created. Initially he tried to find these stories himself by researching their connections with past
myths/archetypes or current events as a way to name each work. He later discovered that when groups of people are brought together to discuss the stories they eventually reach a consensus which then names the piece.
